CAD & BIM SOFTWARE
Scan-to-BIM has long been an established term. It’s about creating a BIM model based on data collected with the laser scanner. However, most CAD and BIM systems have difficulty with this data. These systems were not originally developed to handle such large amounts of data and to display point clouds. Therefore, most users of these systems face major challenges: data import takes a long time, software delays because of the large amounts of data, and navigation in the point cloud is difficult, which causes modeling to take more time.
To let you fully concentrate on your modeling work, PointCab Origins offers you two types of workflows to bypass these problems.
1. POINTCAB PLUGINS
Our PointCab plugins offer by far one of the easiest scan-to-BIM workflows. You work in parallel with PointCab Origins and Revit, ArchiCAD, or BricsCAD. You simply select the required 3D information in the clearly arranged PointCab Origins views and the 3D information is transferred directly to Revit, Archicad, or Bricscad. No export/import, no cumbersome navigation in the point cloud. Of course, the information can be translated directly into the required objects.
2. DATA EXPORT FOR CAD
Even if you use another CAD system, PointCab Origins can massively speed up your workflow. Instead of laboriously importing the complete point cloud into your system, you can pre-process the point cloud data with PointCab Origins. It even allows you to semi-automatically vectorize entire floor plans. This way, you can drastically reduce the amount of data to be imported without sacrificing important 3D information. Here you can find a selection of popular CAD systems PointCab Origins provides an easy workflow for:
INDUSTRIES
Numerous industries have discovered laser scanning for themselves. The advantages are obvious: laser scanning makes it possible to create a precise digital image of reality – the digital twin. It comes as a little surprise that PointCab Origins is also being used in various sectors. Learn directly from our customers how the PointCab Origins workflow is used in your industry.
